Dress: $3.00
From the Lutwyche Salvos. That area used to be one of my favourite haunts, but a couple shut down and the Salvos started charging ridiculous prices, so this was the first in a long time since I’d visited. Half off all clothes over the weekend, so a good score
Skirt: $3.00
Another St Lucia church sale find. The maxi length is on trend, but I’ll probably hem it to a mini. Love the belt loops and huge pockets
Ken Done Top: $1.00
Huge church sale at St Lucia, we got there late so I wonder what goodies got taken earlier. I love Ken Done stuff - I’m a North QLD kid and it always reminds me of Cairns holidays in the 90s.
Top: Part of $3.00 set
Selling at the Suitcase Rummage is a good eye opener into what the young people are wearing, and it’s a lot different to the vintage Osti I favored as a 19yr old. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have been allowed to leave the house in the hem lengths on show, but boy they make an old vintage shirt look great. This is for resell, clearly, I’m getting to old for daisy dukes’
Lace Blouse: $3.00
I’m now fully moved into my new Spring Hill abode, so we will return to normal broadcasting. Moving 5 years worth of ‘stuff’ was somewhat of an ordeal, and as a result I am being more selective when buying, and more proactive in selling. I had a pretty good day at the Feb Suitcase Rummage so with less junk in my vintage trunks, I felt good about setting out on this Saturday morning expedition. A few garage sales, some worthwhile church rummages and a good op shop score made the 6am wake up worthwhile!
Brad Marsellos (good blog) took this photo of my band for Time Off’s live cover. I wore my $10 dress for the shoot, and think it looks pretty good!
Ps. I’ve been neglecting the blog at the moment as I’m in the process of moving, so I’ve have stopped thrifting for the time being
